The Team

Jhan & Iris Hurst are a multicultural husband-wife team of motivational speakers and university lecturers. Jhan was born in Tanzania, Africa but grew up in the U.S. Iris was born and raised in the Polynesian country of Samoa. 

They’ve completed degrees and studies in the U.S. in philosophy, theology, history, business, and family counseling. Having lived and worked professionally in multiple countries for 34 years, they enjoy making life’s deepest truths easy to understand and practical for daily living. 

Jhan & Iris created Think a Minute (TAM) to give short, solid answers to everyone facing the real-life challenges of today’s fast-changing, uncertain world. Based on timeless wisdom and the latest research, their brief messages will inspire and empower you to be truly successful and satisfied in every area of your life. 

The Hursts’ global team shares their uplifting, useful talks on air, online, and on the ground (to date, 42 countries and 19 languages.) Throughout the world, Think a Minute is available through radio, TV, podcasts, newspapers, books in universities across China, life coaching of communities, small groups, and individuals, conversational English learning, motivational and moral teaching in universities, schools, and churches, etc.

As Christian leaders and lecturers with the Assemblies of God, Jhan and Iris aim to encourage and equip people for the full, everlasting life our Creator designed us to enjoy with Him and each other.
